Merchant Monday: FROYOS

froyosFROYOS is a self-serve frozen yogurt place in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The store serves a variety weekly rotating flavors and caters to different dietary needs with a selection of low-fat and no-fat options. Owners Cindy and John Dwyer have both served in the U.S. Armed Forces and offer special military discounts as well as donating a percentage of their profits to military related charities. As first time business owners and entrepreneurs, the Dwyers knew that they had a lot to learn but were committed to finding the right solutions and business plan. They also knew that a key to their success would be customers' loyalty. Cindy says that her ideal customer is a loyal one - someone who is dedicated and comes back often, and spreads the word of their new favorite frozen yogurt place!

The store opened in April 2013, with a great look and a full-on social media strategy. Their Facebook and Twitter accounts are regularly updated with deals and news, and their YouTube and Instagram channels give them a chance to share photo and video with their fans. Although Cindy admits that when she started she had no idea what a hashtag was, she now says that Twitter is "the personality of the company, the messaging of the company. It gets real-time information to your guests."1

FROYOS started working with LoyalBlocks just one month after their grand opening, and have had great success using the program. They offer a Welcome Token of 20% off - a great way to welcome new guests to the store and get them to try different flavors and combinations of toppings to their hearts content. FROYOS also offer free toppings for customers who invite their friends to visit the store via Facebook, and for those who come back regularly - thus encouraging even more loyalty among their customers. They've had a solid growth in membership from day one, and are about to hit 300 loyalty club members just 6 weeks after starting - that's 300 loyal FROYOS customers, just what the Dwyers were looking for when starting out.

FROYOS utilizes the LoyalBlocks Immediate token to send messages to guests as they arrive. Cindy has set up a variety of different personalized messages, making sure that the same guest doesn't get the same message every time they walk in. She says that she enjoys the ease of using LoyalBlocks, with a simple to use dashboard that allows her to constantly update and maintain her rewards. "The dashboard, coupled with the sophisticated, online metrics, give me the ability to frequently modify my rewards," explains Cindy. She can change something once she sees that its working to offer it to more customers - or in the opposite case she can easily take down something she see's isn't working.

We're really excited to work with visionaries like Cindy - someone who sees what she wants, and comes up with a plan and goes for it. Working with FROYOS has been a great experience for us and we're excited to see their loyalty club grow in numbers, in strength, and of course in loyalty!
