NoRa Cupcake Company is an imaginative, unconventional cupcake store in Middletown, Connecticut. They launched in January 2012 after Carrie Carella and Phil Ouellette (owner of neighboring Eli Cannon's Tap Room) decided to partner in bringing a new bakery to the town. Carrie had originally planned to manage the store as well as working at the bar, but quickly realized that wouldn't be possible as demand for the new, quirky cupcake store soared. They describe themselves as "a "new generation" bakery focused on artistic cupcakes with emphasis on non-traditional recipes. Many of the cupcakes are decorated elaborately and stuffed with unique and unusual fillings." Popular recipes include Fat Elvis (banana cake, marshmallow fluff, peanut butter frosting and candied bacon), PB&J (vanilla cake, raspberry preservatives and peanut butter frosting), and the more traditional Cookie Dough and Double Chocolate. As cupcakes vary from day to day, NoRa makes use of their Facebook and Twitter accounts to let people know what they'll have in store today.
NoRa Cupcake Company started working with LoyalBlocks six months after opening. They've been with us now for a year (Happy Anniversary NoRa!) and couldn't be happier. "There's so much you can do with LoyalBlocks. The support team is fantastic, always checking in," says Carrie. She believes that loyalty isn't just about buying the product (although we're sure that doesn't hurt). "Loyalty means appreciation of someone's vision and hard work. It is the want to support that concept especially when knowing the creator values that support." At LoyalBlocks we do our best to support NoRa as much as we can - and we really do love their concept. Who wouldn't love the store that gives us the Munchie cupcake? (That's chocolate cake, caramel & fudge, vanilla buttercream rolled in... wait for it... potato chips. Amazing.)
NoRa has a really great Welcome Token, which is perhaps one of the most traditional parts of their store - the buy one get one free option. It's been used nearly 500 times (that's 1000 cupcakes!), which means that 500 people have been able to try two amazing flavors for the price of one, giving them double the reasons to come back for more. NoRa also offers a punch card with LoyalBlocks that offers the tenth cupcake for free. Carrie says that LoyalBlocks gives her "the ease of creating a loyalty program and tailoring it to your personality as an owner so it can reflect the business' personality." It's something that we also love about LoyalBlocks - the flexibility and variety of tokens we offer mean that, in the words of Carrie Carella, "you can be aggressive or laidback as you'd like with the marketing of your products."
