Hair Salon and ER

Hair Salon and ER is a salon in Stone Mountain, Georgia, which specializes in damaged hair, scalp and hair loss solutions. It's run by Gwendolyn McRae, an industry leader in hairloss and non-surgical hair replacement. Gwen is also a makeup artist, a registered nurse, a cosmetologist, and a mom of seven - that's a lot of qualifications! She set up Hair Salon and ER after 20 years in the health and beauty industries. She told us:

"I decided to open the salon because I felt the industry was missing that old relationship feel that my mom and my grandmom had with their stylist. I even had the same type of relationship with my stylist growing up. Your personal stylist knew about you and your hair and what would and would not work for you. They took the time to know you and give you what you needed, and what was good for you and not just good for their bottom line."

Two-way loyalty

Hair salon and ERGwen wants to recreate that two-way loyalty between stylist and customer that she grew up with and that she feels benefited her whole family. She says that loyalty needs to come from both sides of the relationship:

"Loyalty to me is staying consistent with your beauty professional. That means following their home care instructions, and working with them to help you keep and maintain a healthy head of hair. It also means the stylist being consistent with the client and maintaining an open line of communication about their hair needs."

At LoyalBlocks we really agree with Gwen on this. It's not enough to ask your customers to be loyal to you - you need to be loyal to them as well. That means giving honest advice, providing quality goods and services, and rewarding your customers for their loyalty.

Communication and LoyalBlocks

Gwen is using social media to help create a two-way relationship between the Hair Salon and ER, with an active Facebook page and Twitter account. She also runs events from the salon, inviting people on EventBrite and Facebook, which include a light dinner, some wine, body wraps, spa treatments, and more. It's a nice, different, and social way to publicize Hair Salon and ER, and we love the idea!

Be Calm and Get a Wrap

Gwen is also encouraging loyalty at the Hair Salon and ER is by partnering with LoyalBlocks to enhance her customers in-store experience. She's started off by setting up two tokens. She's giving away a free brow sculpt as a Welcome Token, which is a great way to get customers to try a treatment they may have not thought of doing with Gwen - the idea being that once they've tried it, they'll come back for more! She's also set up our Happy Hour Token, which let's you offer special deals to customers during slow hours, encouraging more foot traffic. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10 am and 4 pm, she's giving away a detoxifying weight loss wrap - again, something that people may not have known that Hair Salon and ER offers but is in fact one of Gwen's specialties.

We love working with people like Gwen, who are determined and thoughtful about their business plan and growth. And Gwen's happy working with us as well - she told us that she loves LoyalBlocks as "it's simple and it makes my clients smile when they walk in the door." Now, who could ask for more than that - smiling customers who come back for more?!
