Merchant Monday: OC Veterinary Medical Center

The OC Veterinary Medical Center

The OC Veterinary Medical Center is a a full service animal hospital and veterinary facility caring for pets in Tustin and Orange, CA. The Center is run by Dr. Jeffrey Horn, a vet with over 15 years experience whose approach is a balance of compassion and progressive medical attention. Dr. Horn moving to the Center in July 2011, and has built up a busy practice since then - providing treatment, advice, pet grooming and pet boarding services. The staff pride themselves on being professional and friendly, and customers are incredibly happy with the service at the OC Veterinary Medical Center. The Center makes great use of social media, with an incredible active Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a really useful blog.

Being a Vet

We spoke with Jeffrey Horn about the OC Veterinary Medical Center and being a vet in general. "One of the perks of being a veterinarian is to being able to work with families," he told us. "Not only are we able to be watch our patients get older, but their children as well. We love when we can become an extended part of the family." It's easy to see why both his patients and their families love Dr. Horn, and why so many of them are loyal to the Center. "We feel that our job doesn't end when our patients leave the front door, and we enjoy it when our clients share their pet's progress via phone, email, text, Facebook, etc. We strongly feel that owners are a vital part of their pet's health plan and we know if they are asking questions or giving updates, they are taking their pet's health issue seriously."

Loyalty and LoyalBlocks

The OC Veterinary Medical Center started working with LoyalBlocks nearly a year ago. Dr. Horn is enjoying working with our system, which he says "allows us to financially reward our good clients and to reinforce their bringing in their pets for routine preventative care, without being an annoyance." The Center is making great use of LoyalBlocks Tokens, offering a Welcome Token for $10 off a lab test, and offering regulars a reduction on flea or heartworm medication. They also have a punch card which offers a $20 grooming discount, which really encourages people to come back more often and take good care of their pets.

Dr. Horn and the team aim to keep up conversations with their customers via social media, as well as in person at the clinic and on the phone. The Center posts lots of useful content for pet owners, and also encourages people to have fun - they just ran a Halloween costume contest for their patients (the winner is pictured above!) One of the OC Veterinary Medical Center customers was a lucky winner of our Loyalpalooza contest in October, which the Center shared on their Facebook page - as Dr. Horn put it "LoyalBlocks makes loyalty fun."

We're certainly trying!
