At flok, we're working with thousands of businesses on mobile marketing, automation and chatbot/AI programs. In each instance, we like to function not as a vendor, but as a partner who can assess businesses' needs and provide reliable, cost-effective solutions. That's why we're always interested in the external forces impacting businesses -- whether it's the economy, or a massive shift in consumer behavior (like mobile has generated over the past few years).
With that in mind, we've created the flok Report -- a look at what's impacting local businesses today. The first issue focuses on mobile's role in running a business and interacting with customers. In June 2016, we surveyd 3,500 Baby Boomer, Generation X and Millennial-owned businesses in the U.S. and Canada about their approach to the mobile medium. The full report can be found here:
The initial hypothesis was that millennials would outpace older generations in terms of mobile reliance. But according to the survey, 9 out of 10 business owners -- regardless of age -- are mobile-reliant. And perhaps more telling, four out of every five boomer and Gen-X business owners are already messaging with customers about business-related topics.
But despite mobile’s growth as a customer engagement tool, just six percent of respondents said that mobile is their primary marketing channel in terms of dollars spent.
Overall, these trends indicate that there is a tremendous opportunity for local businesses to engage their customers via the new first screen. Our mission is to make that engagement affordable and accessible to the average business owner. We're leveling the playing field by providing enterprise-grade tools to the local folks.
